Released on TGO / RCA in 1984, currently out of print.
Tony Green, famous for his Donna Summer influenced, "Come to Me", sung by France Joli, signed me up, promised me a bunch of stuff, and then let me record "Pop Modern(e)" at Studio Marko, engineered by Sylvain Jacob. Sylvain did a great job, especially on the mixing. It was all me and machines.
Tony and I fell out. By the time the dust cleared, I had been nominated, "Most Promising Male Vocalist" in the CASBY awards, had a video on high rotation on Much Music, and found myself totally lost. Before I met Tony, I had a pretty good idea of who I was and what kind of music I was trying to do. But Tony kept telling me, be like Eurythmics, be like Eddy Grant, be like whoever is popular right now! I tried, but it never felt like me. Imagine my chagrine when my most popular song, the one that got me nominated, turned out to be "Miracle". That song began its life with Tony Green trying to get me to copy Shannon's "Let The Music Play"! After this album, I had no deal, and was a very confused artist. But did that stop me? Huh!
